Service was really friendly. Maybe a little slow but the food is good enough that it doesn't really matter. Ordered a Caprese crepe and bacon Caesar salad and would get both again. Also had a bite of my friend's cedar plank salmon and it was very interesting but delicious. The restaurant scene in Grosse Pointe has always been a bit dull, so it's nice to have this place that offers so much variety.

Excellent food. Felt like I was eating at home in my mom's kitchen. Wonderful service and very friendly staff. I suggest giving this place a try. The arepas are absolutely phenomenal. The crepes were delicious as well. Had to try a little bit of everything off of their breakfast menu.

Went to Garrido's tonight for dinner- EXCELLENT! Service is great, food is sooo good, staff extremely welcoming-very inexpensive! A local establishment with owners on site, very friendly. The only negative is no liquor license, so could not enjoy a glass of wine with our meal, but Vanessa (owner) assures us that license has been applied for - Once liquor license is granted, Garrido's will likely be one of the busiest restaurants is Grosse Pointe!!! Go now-beat the crowds! I wish you the best with your restaurant Vanessa! I plan to be a regular customer!!!! Michelle Himes, Grosse Pointe

Came here twice because the food is really good that made me and dad decided to come back for the breakfast. Got the same dishes just the same as our first time, except I got 2 eggs & bacon arepas and Blueberry Infusion tea!! And since I come the second time, I also notice that the arepa itself (made from cornmeal) isn't as good as the first time. For the first time, when I ate to 1/2 of the arepa, it's still crunchy and I still can taste the eggs and bacon. For the second time, when I got to half of arepa, all i tasted in my mouth was cornmeal, for both arepas that I had today. Either the arepas were thicker this time, or it could be because we were the first ones came in today so the thing that they use to make arepas wasn't warm enough? The waitress said to me next time I can ask them to make a little crunchier when ordering. Maybe it's just me, but the first time I tried it was already crunchy and perfect itself, But that is great! I can make it even more perfect!! But that doesn't stop me and dad coming back to this place! Because they have good service, good food, new dishes to experience. My dad's dish is exactly as good as the first time besides the 'complaint': the French toasts this time were bigger than last time! More good foooood!

We pop in here about twice a month to enjoy their Caesar salad+chicken. I get the anchovy dressing, the hubs prefers the bacon variety. The romaine is always crisp and fresh, the dressing not too heavy. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, moist and juicy. What's most memorable is their hospitality, service is exceptional. It's a family run restaurant and they make you feel as if they've prepared your favorite dish, expecting you to drop by.

We were trying to find where to go after church and we remembered seeing this in GP news. Small menu but beautiful atmosphere. Family run. We will do our best to support this burgeoning restaurant as much as we can. My daughter even wants to work there. Needs a little more manpower if they get busy but I hope they survive. The French toast was great forgot to take picture. And the Arrepas were amazing. The potato croquettes were great too with the avocado sauce. Even great for kids with the cheese Arrepas

Heard about this new restaurant and decided to stop in. We were very impressed! The staff is very welcoming and the space is beautifully decorated. We started with the 3 assorted arepas and then ordered the full sized queso and perico. Absolutely delicious! They might seem small but they're just filling enough. Make sure you get the avocado-based sauce, it's essential! We will definitely be back soon!

Just a really really nice place for breakfast or dinner and a great alternative from the boring normal place. The food was exceptional....I will return.

The service was friendly. The garlic bread was a small portion which proved to be a good thing because the arepas are very filling. The cilantro sauce balanced the sweet corn arepas. The beef tenderloin appetizer was spot on.

Walked through Mack and saw this new place with authentic Venezuelan breakfast. Tried it and it was really really good. Place is really clean, nice staff. The chef came out to say hello. The arepas were delicious. Highly recommend this place, will go again .

Let me start by saying we went for breakfast AND lunch. Vanessa was amazing and very helpful with the menu (with it being our first time trying Venezuelan food). The restaurant is gorgeous! The food was amazing! I loved the arepas, the French toast looked amazing, and the teas were fresh and delicious! Obviously we will be going back! So glad we have some Latin food in the neighborhood!

Since Garrido's opened in April I have been back a number of times and it is always a great experience. Relaxed atmosphere, very friendly folks, terrific food. I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but I am working on it.

The meat was halfway cooked through. Took a long time and they didn't have anything? Especially vegetables. Such as green and red peppers. The only thing nice was the lady owner. She refunded all of my food. Which totaled to 28.00!

Excellent service, I was immediately greeted by a beautiful lady named Vanessa who was so friendly and helped us to decide what to order! The coffee was freshly brewed and delicious. Wonderful calming atmosphere, very clean and organized. Then we were served our authentic delicious arepas! My experience overall was amazing and I will most certainly be back!

Just had the chicken with mushroom sauce and rice pilaf and it was delicious! Such a fun concept with the prix fix menu and changing of entrees. It's a very cute place with extremely nice staff that we'll definitely be going back to! Oh and you must try the teas too!

To begin with, it's tough to find a more gracious host/owner than Vanessa. You instantly feel welcome and appreciated from the moment you step inside this bistro. Couple those good vibes with some unique, fantastic food created by her husband back in the kitchen and you've got a winner on your hands. For breakfast, you won't find the standards, but what you will find is an awesome twist on the classic breakfast menu. In particular, the Bacon, Bacon, and Bacon Crepe, Arepa sandwich with chorizo, egg, and mozzarella, and Berry French Toast are definitely standouts. For dinner, the Seafood Salpicon is a must try in the appetizer department. Whatever it is you choose, each and every item is obviously freshly made just for you, and it's worth the wait. We also just attended a special theme dinner at Garrido's (Spanish Night), and it, too, was absolutely fantastic. The communal seating for this dinner made it even more incredible-you really felt like you had been transported far away from Grosse Pointe, and the people were sat with were fantastic.

So excited to see a Venezuelan restaurant in town! The special of the day was pernil (Venezuelan roasted pork). The pork was tender and had a lot of flavor. The arepas were large and yummy. They would make a good lunch by themselves. We have to try their cachapas next time!!
